Making Science out of what was Science Fiction:

Wow - yesterday brought the amazing news that transparent aluminum, as depicted in Star Trek IV (aka: Save the Whales) is close to reality, sort of (they are actually talking about super-strong, transparent ceramics).

Topping that, today brings us the news that flexible electronic paper displays, like those described in Neal Stephenson's "Snow Crash" is closer to reality. That's really cool!
