Selected Works of Gabriel Picart

My wife and I are big fans of the oil paintings of Gabriel Picart. Here are some images of some of his work, though no computer image can do justice to the beauty of oil on canvas. We have Gypsy, Red Blossums, Peacefulness, and Venetian Fantacy. We have thought about a few others.

We purchased those from Philip Allen of Weinstein Gallery (383 Geary Street, San Fransisco, CA, 94102, 415-362-8152). The images presented here were mostly captured from the Weinstein Gallery's excellent web page, and trust me the digital copies do not do the original oils justice at all. Mr Allen has been very helpful to us, and we like that he is gently persistant, yet not pushy as a salesman.

In 2001 a book on Gabriel Picart's work was published in Spain: "Picart; Personal View". Furthermore serigraphs of some of his work will be published soon.
